Summer Fun! (Part 2)

Okay, so here is part 2 of this monstrosity!

One fine day in June, a couple of us decided it would be a smart idea to go to Chuck E Cheese. Dane loved it last time, right? Well, even though it was horribly crowded, it actually was a blast and he had a great time. We played games all sorts, and Dane absolutely LOVED the little tunnel jungle gym with the slide. He didn't want to get out of it! Even Gamma and Gampa came out for the fun!

Skee Ball! Wait, is that how you spell it?

We are so focused.

Look at those tickets!

Jackpot!

There he is! Dane-zilla!

Dane's adoring fans...

Love that Barney...

The amazing sliiiiiiiide!

We called this the beer bong for kids. I know, it's so wrong, but really, how ridiculous is this? Dane got it as one of his prizes.

In July, Dane and I took the Metro to the Amtrak station in LA to meet Mike down in San Diego. We were heading to the Canatsey Family beach house in Mission Beach. What a great time that was, just hangin' out by the ocean and enjoying the sun. I had just started feeling the ickies with my pregnancy, so I wasn't fully functional, but it was still a wonderful time. Dane got to play with his buddies Ruby and Nova. So fun!

Riiiiiding on the Metrooooooo.

Here is Dane about to fall asleep on the train. He slept over 2 hours!

We arrived at the beach! Kevin dug a big hole for the kids to play in.

Beautiful Ruby:)

Kevin just made a good horse shoe toss!

The kids are trying to escape!

Time to head in. Not a fun thing:(

Beautiful SD sunset...

My boys.

The next weekend, we headed back down to San Diego for another joyous occasion. Mike's father, Dane's Granddad, my father-in-law was turning 70! Mike and Mark planned a wonderful, intimate surprise party for him at Tom Ham's Lighthouse on Shelter Island. It was a gorgeous night and many of Ralph's dear family and friends were there to celebrate. I think you can see in the pictures that Ralph had a great time!

Ralph and Mark.

The gift and dessert table. Mmmmm, yummy carrot cake cup cakes made by my sister Erica. Thanks, E!

The Danish and mommy.

Cheers!

EEEEEEEEE!

This is what happens when mom is in charge:)

Dane's intense look...

The beautiful Trish and baby Ella! That's Dane's future wife, just so you know.

Our dear friends, Trish, Doug and Ella Bear. What a great family!

Toward the end of July, a few of my family members and our friend Marianne (lovingly called Mern) drove up to my parents' house in Pagosa Springs, CO. We did so much fishing, ate so much food, and relaxed so much that it almost hurt! Erica was the gourmet chef for the week (as usual) and cooked some amazing feasts. Dane and I missed Mike the whole time, but Dane made sure to call him every day and give him his love. The pictures will do the talking, though, as you see all the fun things we did that week. It was definitely hard coming home, but I think we're planning another trip soon! We just can't stay away:)

Cuddling with his "beeear" on the way up. Yes, yes, he has a car seat, but we were letting him stretch his legs. It's a 12 hour drive. CALM DOWN!

Relaxing on the deck with Mern. What a life!

Okay, so this is what happens when you have too many women in the house. Sorry, Mike! And sorry Dane, but your future girlfriend IS seeing this!

Sorry, one more:)

Gamma and Dane looking at the air balloon.

Dane says, "Erica...you NAILED IT!"

Thank you, dad, for this ridiculously funny caption.

Taking a walk around the house. There were gorgeous sunflowers in bloom everywhere!

Nice walking stick!

When Dane sees this picture, he says, "Put a cork in it!"

Mernie's fishin'!

Dane's fishin', too!

I caught one!

There's my trout. Do I look country or what? HA!

Dane's nap time.

Can you pick out Dane's fish among all these trout? Yes, he actually caught one!

There it is!

We had to clean them in a hurry. A storm was a-comin'!

Another great caption from dad.

Mernie just dug right in there...

Mmmmm, surf 'n turf!

OH BOY!

"I think it's gonna be a good day, mom!"

Yay!!!!

Dad and Erica came across a bunch of deer on their way to go fishin' one morning. Look out!

Unbelievable...

Erica and the sea...
