Triathlons, MOPS, Pumpkins, Half Marathons and Skydiving...what do they have in common?

Nothing, except that you can find all five in this blog! I know, I know...what a groaner. You can blame my dad for giving me that gift. Well, I cover some ground in this blog...then again, when do I not? Enjoy!

Mission Bay Triathlon

Well, Mike did it again! He ran in the Mission Bay Triathlon in San Diego on October 4, with a total time of 1hr 21min 52 seconds. He placed 767 overall and placed 93 in his division! Way to go, Mikey! I don't have any pictures of him during the day because I wasn't able to make it down. I had to work a Dalcorp party the night before and I was exhausted. I know, I'm a terrible wife. But look at this picture I found on the website!

See! There he is! GO MIKEY!

I was able to copy these photos from the triathlon website. Sorry about the text over the pics, but at least you can see him in action!

He made it!

MOPS (Mothers of Pre Schoolers) Playdate

On Friday, October 9, my parents kindly allowed me to invite my MOPS friends over for a playdate. We had a wonderful time of swimming, jumping on the trampoline, crafts and just chatting with friends. Dane really enjoyed having kids over to Gamma and Gampa's house. Thanks again, mom and dad. It was a such a fun time!

Getting ready for the first guest!

Wow...look at that finger painting!

Dane is in heaven.

Wow, she's cute.

Now THIS is my kind of toy.

What a handsome lifeguard Mike made that day:) AJ was a lifeguard, too, but I didn't get a good picture of him! Thanks for your hard work, guys.

Hangin' out by the spa. Dane couldn't go in because he wasn't feeling great.

Someone brought these awesome blocks. Of course, Dane had to stack.

The Faulkner Pumpkin Farm

On Saturday, October 10, Mike, Dane and I went to the Faulkner Ranch up in Santa Paula, CA. We heard/read good things about it and boy did it deliver! Dane woke up that morning knowing we were going to see the "aminals" and was so excited. There was a petting zoo, pumpkin patch, a "Pumpkin Chucker" (15th century catapult now used to chuck pumpkins), yummy food, a corn maze (or a maize maze as Mike would call it), a hay maze, tractor rides, a huge hay pyramid...well, you get the idea. It was full of fun stuff to do. I think the pictures say it all!

Dane said, "I woke upt! Going to see aminals!"

"Are we there yet?" (Click here for a funny video)

We tackled the hay maze first.

Dane got the courage to crawl through!

There's mom. She's in one picture! :)

Next, it was the Maize Maze. Dane loved it.

He kept saying, "Come on, mommy!"

Of course, there's Mike admiring the old car...shocking. Ha!

Every kid's dream. A hay pyramid!

He's on top of the...hay!

Dudes. Sittin' on a tractor.

You ain't a farmer if you ain't chewin' on a piece a hay.

Dane is just a LITTLE excited for the hay ride.

Look at those dimples.

"Ees soooft, daddy."

Dane really loves the pony rides.

Man, the food was so good. Dane got his traditional corn dog:)

Here is the "Pumpkin Chucker!" Click here to see a video of this thing in action. It's so cool!

This one's for you, Kiuh.

Just takin' a break with the pumpkins.

"I found mine!"

On the way home...he's starting to fade...

And he's gone.

These booster seats aren't as comfortable, but what a great day:)

The Long Beach Half Marathon

Well, Moggy and Colleen did it again, but this time, they brought newbies. Congrats, to Erica "E" Nocita and Marianne "Mernie" Chew, who ran their first half marathons! They were a little nervous as they weren't able to train as much as they wanted to, but boy, they finished that race all smiles. Also, congratulations to my 87 year old grandmother for finishing yet ANOTHER race, and to Colleen for getting her THROUGH another race. You guys are a team made in heaven:) I can't wait to do this again with you!

The gang before the race.

There are the running twins! They're looking good!

I love their faces in this picture! HA! You can do it!

There they are! Almost there!

Dane is waiting patiently now for Erica to cross the finish line. Wait...is that her?

There she is! Good job, E!

THEY MADE IT!

Mernie's not sure she wants to eat that cupcake. She'll just hold it for a couple hours and wait.

Moggy and Kassady. What a picture.

Quatro generations! HOLY COW!

Thanks so much to long time family friend Tom "Tomagee" Agee for inviting us over to his home after the race. I'm sure the runners were so happy to eat and rest their bones.

Dane loved seeing the boats come down the canal. It was such a beautiful day!

Kimberly Nocita Receives "A" License

I wasn't there to witness it, but you can click here to see Kimmy make her last three coach jumps, getting her to "A" license status in skydiving. She skydived Friday, Saturday AND Sunday! What an incredible feat! Congratulations, Kim! Now, when can you take me with you?!
