Alrighty, well we're starting here with the first half of December. I'll do the second half in the next blog. Yikes!
On December 1st, I asked Mike if we could go get our tree. I wanted to enjoy it for as long as possible as Christmas is my favorite time of year. He obliged:) We went to a wonderful tree lot in Carlsbad and the guy gave us a great deal on a great tree. We had a nice time and Dane was so "decided!"
I also included some of Dane's school pictures in here. I'm sure most of you have seen them if you're on Facebook as I posted them there, but I thought I'd share them here, too. They are just too cute for words! I also love how they did them outside. Such a beautiful day...
I took the kids on our annual trip to the mall to take pictures with Santa. I knew Dane was extremely excited to see "Thanta" and ask him for his "crath car" (crash car) and train, but I wasn't sure how Ryan was going to do. He was desperately tired, so it could've gone either way. Waiting in line, the boys were all smiles and having fun. Then when it came time to take pictures, Ryan didn't cry! He was definitely a little confused and kept looking at Santa like, "who is this weirdo?" But it was such a great picture. Then afterward, Dane saw a fire truck push cart, so we of course had to get pics in there, too. It was a wonderful time overall, though, and relatively painless!
Mid December, my sister Kim and her bf Bart, aka "Bark" put on another swoop competition for skydivers at Perris Valley Skydive. I brought the boys out there to enjoy the day and watch the planes. Dane flipped out any time the "Thark Plane" (Shark Plane) flew by...which was a LOT. It was fun to watch Kim and Bark run the show, but also to help out a little bit and see how these things go.
Lastly, I included just a few photos of the Poinsettia Bowl that Mike and I went to on the 23rd. Our friends Bob and Carole were kind enough to give us free tickets to see the Navy play the SDSU Aztecs at Qualcomm Stadium. Since Mike is an SDSU alumna, we had to root for them. It was tough, though, since San Diego is such a Navy town! We had a great time just being at the game together while Kim watched the kids for us. Thanks, Kiuh!
Can't finish a blog without saying...check out our new videos of the family. Dane has a particularly funny one about road kill, so I recommend watching that one when you get a chance. Happy New Year, everyone!
