Home Run Blog!

Hey y'all! 'Nuther update from the Roblee Fam comin' atchya...

Dane thoroughly enjoyed playing baseball this year, although he had a rough start. We had to push him every day to go. With Mike as manager of the Rangers, it was hard for him to come home and have to drag Dane with him. After a while, though, something happened in Dane and he started to get so excited for every practice and game! I think his dad made him realize that it's all about having fun and playing hard. Dane ended the year with a bang...hitting home runs, making outs...it was so awesome. We have end of the year pics coming soon.

We went to visit granddad Ralph last month and the kids got to visit their favorite place - the "Echo Canyon." I think you can guess how it got its name. Ralph lives on a cul-de-sac that runs into this great canyon. It used to be the place that Mike, Mark and their buddies would romp and play as kids. They got into a lot of trouble down there:) It's since been fenced off and deemed "dangerous," but you KNOW that's just an invitation for people like us. Hee hee. So, the Roblee guys made a hole in the fence and we visit the canyon every time. The kids love to throw rocks down there to hear the echo. Making memories...

On May 9, Dane's preschool had a Mother's Day celebration that was so sweet. Dane made a wonderful place mat and keep sake box for me. I also received a hand made beaded necklace, the likes of which would make any mother's heart crumble. It was such a precious morning. The kids even made us fruit salad. Delicious.

That weekend, I drove up to LA with Ryan and Mike stayed back with Dane for a few hours because they had their last baseball game. Before the game, though, Mike took Dane to visit his friend fireman Chad at the Oceanside Fire Department. Dane had a BLAST. He always says he wants to be a fireman when he grows up, so you can imagine what this was like for him. Good job, Mikey!

Last, and maybe least (haha, j/k B!), was my visit to the Irwindale Renaissance Pleasure Faire with Brian and Erica Gomez (my sister and her hubby). Let's just say, there were quite a number of ridiculously awesome costumes, strange characters...just downright great people watching. We even got to see THE QUEEN. Such an honor. Thank you, Brian, for introducing me to this...unique experience. Had a great time with you guys!

Dad pitchin' and Dane hittin'. Doesn't get any better than that!

Here's granddad taking in the chaos.

Can we go home, mom?

I bet he'll look just like this when he's older, just about 3 feet taller. :)

Please can we go home, mommeeeee?!

Not a happy camper.
I found Ryan (as I often do) reading in Dane's room.

Here's Ryan yelling into the "Echo Hole."

Mike and Dane are heading down!

Granddad and Ryan:)

Let the Mother's Day fun begin!

I think Ryan should wear a hard hat all the time.

Yum!

Funny story...there are 8 boys and 2 girls in the class. The city took all of the sand out of their playground and replaced it with wood chips. Now there's only a small sand box. Where do you think all of the boys play?
On our way up to LA.

Painting GG Moggy's bird house for Mother's Day:)

This is so funny. Dane wrote "notes" on the little paper so he could remember what to write on the birthday card for Colleen:)

Fireman Dane!

Dane was a little shy. He gets shy around heroes:)

The newlyweds at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire.

B and me!

Sistersssss.

Long live the queen!

People are serious about their costumes!

Honestly, I think we should still call bathrooms privies. That is seriously the best word ever!

Snugglin' down in gamma gampa's bed after a good day:)
