The weeks following Alana's birth were a blur, but were mostly full of smiles and laughter. We spent the days (and nights) getting to know our little girl and the boys were doing such a good job of being gentle and sweet. It's hard to describe in words what it's like to bring a baby home from the hospital. Aside from the obvious loss of sleep and messed up routines, there is beauty in all of the small, precious moments. Her baby hiccups, her little dream faces, the smell of her hair, the boys snuggling up to her and holding her, watching her fall asleep on Mike's chest (while Mike simultaneously falls asleep holding her)...these moments are sadly fleeting, but they so intricately weave this new personality into our family. No longer four, but five lives bound together in love. It's something I will hold on to and cherish my entire life.
Okay, now that I'm done wiping my hormonal tears away, let's get on to Dillon's 5th Birthday! We had a Spiderrific time at Katie and Spencer's new house as we celebrated Dillon's birthday on March 3rd. Spiderman made an appearance and was definitely the star of the show that day. The kids were so excited and followed him around constantly. It was adorable! They also had face painting and a pinata (because of course, what's a party without a pinata?). Check out the photos (thanks, dad) and see for yourself what a fun day it was. Oh, and Alana got to visit with lots of people, too! Everyone passed her around all afternoon and she was such a good girl. It was a treat watching family and friends enjoy her:)
Thanks for reading and enjoy the pics!
