Colorado Walkies!

Hello everyone!

I know it's been quite a while since my last post. I have good reason. At the end of July, a few of us went up to Colorado to fish and enjoy the summer in Pagosa Springs. Dane came along and had a great time. He fished a lot and helped me catch a couple of my first trout! I caught some bass, too, only they weren't quite big enough to keep. Dane also learned how to chug "beer." Check out the video to the left.

Colorado is so beautiful in the summer, but it was actually a bit hot during the last couple days. Dane and I stayed in on our last day as I actually got sun poisoning! Man, I hate being so white. All that to say, it was a fantastic trip - thanks mom and dad for letting us come and enjoy your bounty!

Every week since then has been filled with fun. We celebrated some birthdays (Marianne, Moggy, Auntie Bob, Doug) and A.J.'s is coming up on the 27th.

I think the biggest news for us, though, is that Dane is walking! Dane had been standing up on his own and hinting that he wanted to walk for a while now, he was just too timid to take that first step. At 14 months, he's sort of the last one of his group of "friends" to walk. Anyway, on August 14, 2008 at 9:59 am, he took his first step! Of course, it was all downhill from there (or should I say, uphill?). That afternoon he was truckin' around the house - falling and hitting himself on just about everything we hadn't child proofed yet. It was pretty interesting. Other than some bruises on his face, he's doing pretty well! He got a nice shiner on his right eye, but I think he likes it. It shows his dedication to walking. Anyway, you can check out a few of our new videos to the left - scroll down to see Colorado pictures and a special pic of Dane walking.

Thanks to everyone for reading and keeping up with our lives. We love all of you!

My first trout!

Dane was not sure if he liked the fish...

Can I fish, too mom?

My bounty!

Dane is enjoying some in house entertainment on the poof.

Of course, he ate a lot as well. Doesn't he always?

After a long day of fishing, he needed a bath badly.

AND FINALLY....
