Impromptu BBQ

Well, after a couple weekends in a row of going up to LA, I was sure I was ready to stay put in San Diego for a bit. As it turns out, Ryan and I got pretty lonely once Mike and Dane left for Yosemite. They left on Wednesday, August 22 and by Friday, Ryan and I were ready to head up to LA again. We had such a relaxing time! First, we joined Erica and Brian at their new house for the day. They were getting ready for their first party in the new house and Ryan and I "helped" them with preparations. Brian's family, my family and some friends stopped by. It was SUCH a nice time and a yummy BBQ. Great job on your first gathering, guys!

Saturday, we played in the pool (again) all day and had such a great time with family and friends. We were celebrating AJ's birthday that weekend, too, so when Sunday rolled around, we had cake and presents. Good times indeed. Happy 24th, AJ!

We had to head out earlier on Sunday so we could beat Mike and Dane home from Yosemite. They had such an amazing trip. Mike is working on the pictures for the next blog, so stay tuned!

Water Blogged

This blog definitely has a theme. Water! The weekend of August 18 and 19, I headed up to LA to my parents' house for a visit. It was also so we could go to my friends' daughter Riley's 1st birthday! Yay Phuong and Robert! Well done! We had a wonderful time at the park for the party and a special guest paid a visit...the Los Angeles Kings mascot! The kids LOVED it and were mesmerized by the whole thing. The food was a hit, too. I hurt myself eating too much, as usual. Thanks, Fong family for a great time. It was so good to visit!

The rest of the weekend was spent swimming in the pool. Since the heat was pretty intense, we sat in the pool the whole time. Dane and Ryan had gotten really comfortable in the water, and Dane even started jumping off the waterfall and swimming in the deep end himself! Ryan was having a blast on the slide and jumping off the waterfall as well, he just had some spotters to catch him. It was so cute to watch them play. I had such a hard time choosing pictures, so that's why there are quite a few. Enjoy!

Auntie Mern and Riley:)

There he is!

Here is gamma teaching Dane how to dive.

And here is Ryan making sure that Dane is prepared for any distractions during said dive.

Got it! Nailed the dive!

I think dad's caption says it all...

Dane's getting comfortable doing jack knives off the waterfall!

Gamma gampa's famous green shakes, on the house!

Breakfast on Sunday. Dane is too busy eating, but he'll still flash a thumbs up to appease gampa.

A pool squeeze from Auntie Erica.

The first time the boys went down the slide together. We decided Dane should probably be in the front after this slide since he practically pushed Ryan down to the bottom of the pool!

Look at that excited face!

Uncle B helping Ryan swim.

Ryan did not hesitate at all. HA!

Thumbs up!

This doesn't look like it ended well, but it did:)

TOAST.

DONE.
The next day at Sea World with Aunt Janis, Uncle Roger and GG Moggy!

Ryan, where are we headed?

We were able to get a group shot!

And then we lost Ryan...

There's Dane hitching a ride with GG.

Petting the alligator...awesome.

Dane was getting ready to wink!
