Celebrating the 4th from SD to LA

We celebrated the 4th of July like it was going out of style! From San Diego to Los Angeles, we covered some ground and had a blast doing it.

On July 4th, we headed over to the Canatsey's for some fun in the...clouds. It was not a very pretty Independence Day, but of course everyone had a great time, nevertheless. The coolest part of this day (well, one of the coolest) was the fact that there were two - not one, but two other babies that rivaled Ryan in size! One 3 month old, who was almost Ryan's size, and one 5 month old, who was WAY bigger than Ryan. It was like a big, bald baby convention at the Canatsey house. Too cute! All the kids and parents had a ball and we all ate well, too. Thanks to Kevin and Claire for providing yet another great day of fun:)

On Monday, July 5th I took Dane, Ryan and Blizzard up to my parents' house for their 4th of July celebration. So many friends and family showed up to visit and it was lots of fun. The sun was out and the tri tip was YUMMY! Thanks to mom and dad for providing food, laughs and a place to hang out (as always). We had such a fantastic time...

Wednesday, July 7th, Auntie Erica came up for an overnight visit. Dane was so excited to see her. We had a relaxing time just eating, drinking and being merry. The next morning, we had a great pancake breakfast while Erica quizzed Dane with his "flath cardth." I think she was shocked at how well he did. Athankyou! LOL!

Some Ryan development news: At 4 months he's getting his bottom teeth in. Let's just say, mom's not too thrilled. Ouch! He's also starting to roll over on his own and his personality is developing so much! He laughs and smiles all the time now, especially at his big brother Dane. It's so wonderful to watch. Also, the boys had their 3 year and 4 month old well baby appointments on Friday and it went swimmingly. Dane is in the 99th percentile in height and weight, and Ryan is in the 95th for both. They also got shots and did really well. In fact, when we were done, Dane turned to the nurse and said, "Thank you fo my thots!" We had a good laugh about that one. A special thank you to Lynn for accompanying me to the appointment with the boys. It was great to have your help!

Anyway, stay tuned for more bloggage coming up. We have lots going on in the coming weeks. We hope all of you are doing well and that you keep in touch!

The kids really enjoyed the new tree house that Kevin built in the front yard.

The girls actually let the boys go up there!

Here's a random pic of a stack that Mike built. Dane dreams that one day, he too will be able to stack with such precision.

See how he looks at Dane so adoringly. Melts a mother's heart.

"Thass the color of my whaaaaale!" Otherwise known as...pink.

Nothing like flash cards in the morning to wake you up, eh Erica?:)
