February 7, Mike and I celebrated our 5th anniversary. Mike will remind everyone that he got me a card and I didn't get him one. I will allow the ridicule to go on, but only so far since my Valentine's Day plan kicked butt!
On Valentine's Day, Mike worked on the house in the morning because that's what he does on the weekends, poor guy. Around 12:30 I packed up the boys and took them on a surprise trip to the California Science Center! It was so fun wandering around and playing with all of the hands on stuff. The best part is, it's free! We had a great afternoon there and snapped some great photos as well. Afterward, I took them home and cooked a fantastic meal - steak and baked taters, of course! YUM! It was such a fun-filled day and one I will remember, always.
Another interesting tidbit of information - Mike taught me how to mix and pour concrete! Yes, that's right. I became a master cement mixer and dumped 35 90 lb. bags of cement into our back yard. Of course, Mike was there to show me how, and to help lift 30 of the 35 bags into the mixer. Ahem. Hey, I did 5 of them! Anyway, it was fun doing some manual labor in the back yard with the hubby. It's starting to really come together! He's working on the bricks as I write this, actually...
We've been working really hard on finishing up the major projects on the house, but most of all, we've been enjoying our little Danish. He's growing so fast and being so cute all the time - it's hard to handle! We are posting more adorable photos on the blog (as always) for you to see. Also, we've uploaded quite a few new videos on the left, so check those out if you're bored at work or something.
Usually for Mike's birthday, a group of us head up to Mammoth to enjoy the beautiful snow they get up there. This year, I decided it would be best to go to Big Bear to cut down on costs. Our wonderful family friends, Keith and Denise Brown, allowed us to use their awesome condo at Summit, so I thought it would be a great idea to surprise Mike! I told all of his friends to pretend that they had other things going on. Mike thought we were just going up by ourselves to have a quiet weekend of snowboarding and hanging out. Little did he know that I sent a crew up before us to get the party started! He was quite surprised (I think) and we had a great time all weekend. You'll see a lot of pictures of Kevin and Claire's kids, Ruby and Nova as well. Let me just say, I don't think I've ever seen Dane more excited - he got to hang out with two beautiful women all weekend! It was a blast watching them all interact and also just partying with our family and friends up there. Thanks to all who came and helped out. It was so worth it! Also, thanks to auntie Kimmy for providing all the wonderful Big Bear photos! It only took me THREE HOURS to sift through them:)
We love you all and we hope you have a great March!
