Baaa-dee-yaaah...blogging in Septembah!

We're catching up, people! Here's the scoop...

August Birthdays

We packed it up and headed to the Nocita house for the August birthday celebration. It was a fantastic gathering with family coming from every direction. Auntie Bob was celebrating her 90th birthday, Moggy was celebrating her 88th birthday, Noel was celebrating the big 3-0 and AJ was celebrating his 22nd. Lots of great pictures provided by Al "Picaso" Nocita (I just came up with that...nice ring to it). Thanks, daddddddy:)

Ryan's ready for the party!
Dane's got the play dough handled.

As usual, Bill is in charge of carving.
Megan has built a STUNNING plate of culinary goodness.
Happy faces!
Whatchya lookin' at, Asher?

Happy Birthday, Auntie Bob and Noel!
There is the birthday gang!
I need to eat those cheeks.
Look at those happy faces. Oh wait...Noel...(he he...I had to, Noel).
There's team "buh byyyye" having a chat between bye's.
Hellooooo down there...
Hugs goodbye...
BUH BYYYYYYYYE!

Ryan's having a laugh of his own.
Awwww...
A "buccado."
A word from Auntie.
Can we PLEASE get this show on the road?
BUH BYYYYYYYYE!

The final goodbye.
Danish Photography

Here are a few Dane photos taken from his own camera!

Dane grew this sunflower from a little seed:)
Here's Blizzard posing for the pic.
Dane wanted to take a picture of our bean garden.
And here's another one of our corn:)

Mike's 20th High School Reunion

Mike had a big weekend the weekend of the 27th-29th. He had the America's Finest Half Marathon, as well as his Mission Bay High School reunion. They had activities going on all weekend that Mike was attending, but the family BBQ was on the Sunday afternoon after the marathon! So, Mike ran the marathon in the morning with Colleen and Moggy, then jetted out to Pacific Beach to meet us at the BBQ. What a great day!

(Don't mind the "proof" marks on the marathon pics. We're too cheap to buy the photos. LOL!)

Shaka bra!

The Schumann-Heink Memorial at Balboa Park. Mike's great great great grandmother...I think...

There they are! Colleen, Mike and Moggy - big finishers!

Dane wanted his face painted like a dragon.
Why does my neck look so huge here? I'm not on steroids!

Eyes open...
Eyes closed. LOL!

That dragon face just kills me!
The famous balloon sword.
Nothin' like playing with a pink car and a balloon sword to get you going for the day.

The "Thinderblock" Incident

I'm sure most of you have had a chance to read or hear about Dane's cinderblock incident. If you haven't, check out our video page to see the video of Dane giving his account of the whole thing. Anyway, it really wasn't that big of a deal, but there have been a great many hours spent discussing it with him, nonetheless. Sorry for the photos, but I had to document.

That white line is the root of the nail that came out.

All wrapped up and ready to leave the ER.

Here is Dane resting his "boo boo." He's holding his stuffed animal he got at the ER.

Padres Game or Bust!

Well, it was a bust. Dane didn't get his nap that day and Mike took him to a Padres game. We hoped the excitement would keep him entertained, but alas, it was not successful. At least he got a free floppy hat out of it!

Game day blue....or blues, as it were.

Home Depot

Now this is cool. Every Saturday morning, Home Depot has a free workshop for kids to build stuff. Dane got to go with Mike last week and they built a flag pole. The boys had a great time building stuff!
