Christmas 2010

Each day that passed since my last post I wondered to myself...would the Christmas blog ever come to fruition? Would my blog writing days be over? There were simply too many wonderful moments captured this Christmas, so how would I ever be able to share all of these with the world?

Well, I did it. I was able to gather a number of pictures that I think truly capture the 2010 Roblee Christmas experience.

We begin on Christmas Eve at Jim Guy's home in Grossmont, San Diego. Jim Guy is Adele Roblee's cousin. Every year we gather there to listen to Madame Schumann-Heink's "Silent Night." This has profound meaning for the family as Schumann-Heink is Adele's great grandmother and was a very well known opera singer from Germany during the turn of the 20th century. Unfortunately, Adele couldn't be with us as she was in the hospital battling a terrible infection in her leg. The show went on, but she was sorely missed...

Afterwards, we headed to Ralph and Adele's (sans Adele) to open presents. Ralph called Adele so she could talk to everyone and join in on the Christmas festivities. Once the boys were obviously too tired to function, we jammed back up to Carlsbad to put them to bed so Santa could get to work.

Mike and I had a great time getting everything ready for Christmas morning. It was so fun putting all of the toys together and wrapping the last of the gifts. Dane and Ryan had NO trouble getting to sleep, so we knew we were in the clear. I think we were in bed by 10:00!

Christmas morning was so wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time together as a family. The boys looked so cute in their matching Christmas jammies, too! (Thanks, Phuong and Robert!)

Once we were all done with our own Christmas morning craziness, it was time to head up to the Nocita house to party with the rest of the family. What a truly wonderful experience it was. Family and friends from all over gathered to celebrate and enjoy the food, which was beautifully prepared by my mom and my aunt Colleen. Some others brought appetizers to die for! We had a new addition from Kimmy's boyfriend Bart - Pierogies! I have to say, we were all pleasantly surprised by these yummy treats. Thanks, "Bark!":)

After attacking the food and dessert, we all sat down to open presents and sing Christmas carols. It was an enchanting night of family, friends, feasting and fa la la la las! Enjoy the photos as I believe they truly capture the spirit of this Christmas for the Roblee family.

NOT looking ready for round 2...

Ryan is a tad bit tired:)

Look at that fancy watch!

"Hi Nana! I love you!"

"I always wanted one of these!"

The beloved trash truck!

Look at that amazing train that "Santa" brought! And sitting on such a lovely table:) Good job, Mikey!

My favorite Dane arrangement of the Nativity.

Merry Christmas! Ryan wasn't sure about this Santa thing...

Not sure if Dane was happy or scared when it came to the train table...

The Christmas lists!

Look at those cute butts!

Time to celebrate at the Nocita's.

Some good old Christmas day relaxin' going on...

There's Mernie!

Um yeah...so the whole "we're taking it easy on presents" thing didn't work this year.

There's Bark serving up his amazing Pierogies! YUM!

Ryan looks a little confused. Ryan: "I don't get it."

No one was supposed to get Bark a present, but I bent the rules for this one. A pet rock seemed sufficient:) Thankfully, Bark has a good sense of humor!

Time for hokey pokey!

Ryan's thinkin', "Uh uhhhh...you ain't NEVAH gonna see me do that." Just wait, Ryan...
