Well, there is A LOT going on right now. We'll start with the weekend of August 10-12. On Friday, August 10, I joined my dad, Kim and Marianne (Mernie) in saying goodbye to the StillRoom. AJ has worked there as a manager/bartender since it opened and has poured his blood, sweat and tears into the restaurant. Unfortunately, times got a bit tough and Kevin and Leslie were forced to close the doors, but not before we got to finish off some of the great food and drinks they had to offer! Thanks to the staff and to AJ for making it a memorable last night. We will definitely miss that place...
On Saturday, our family and friends came from all over the country to surprise my grandmother Margaret Davis for her 90th birthday party. She had no idea that we were going to surprise her at the Santa Anita Racetrack to celebrate her wonderful life. She thought she was going to see the Philharmonic with my parents, but she got more than she bargained for that evening! Friends and family from all over the country came to share this day with her. Perhaps the most fun surprise was that Peter and Luan Mueller showed up from Arizona. Peter is Mahgy's nephew and it had been 50 years since he'd seen Mahgy! What a treat! Anyway, I'll definitely include captions on some of the pictures, but since there are so many (thanks dad, Shawn and Keith - sheesh), I'll keep it to a minimum.
