We Struck Gold!!!!

Gamma and Gampa came down again to visit September 19th and we just spent the day hanging out. It is so nice to simply relax and not have anything on the agenda when they're here. We played in the back yard and grilled up some steaks that they brought down for us. As usual, dad brought his camera and snapped some wonderful shots of the kids, so of course I had to share!

The last weekend in September we decided to take a little family trip to the Smith Ranch and Julian Railroad in Julian. The kids absolutely LOVE trains, and this place was so cool because it had a real train track for us to ride. The Smith family has owned this farm since 1997 and starting building this railroad by hand. I kept thinking what a wonderful project that must have been for the father and son. It's so cute how the whole family works together to run that place and give tours. Maybe we'll do that someday, huh Mike?:) As part of the tour, they took us into one of the gold mines on the ranch. The kids got to go in the mine in the little mine cart that they used to use back in the gold mining days. They were blown away!

Afterwards, we headed to grab a bite to eat and boy, were those kids TIRED. We hurried through our meal and stopped at Dudley's Bakery in Santa Ysabel. This was a traditional stop for Mike and his family on their way home from Julian, so we had to keep up with tradition! We got some Cinnamon Pull Apart bread and some pastries and got back on the road. What a great day!

Enjoy the pics!
