Hello again! Can you tell I'm churning these out so I can stay up to date? :)
Saturday, December 8 we had a great bunch of moms and kids over from La Costa Moms to decorate gingerbread cookies, make crafts, and play in the back yard. The weather was a bit yucky, but we made do and had a nice time anyway. The boys were thrilled to have people over as mommy has been somewhat of a hermit this past month!
The following Thursday, auntie Erica came down to visit and decorate gingerbread houses (or as Ryan calls them, "jinga-bread" houses). It was so fun to have her here. I think you can tell in the pictures that she MIGHT have overdone it with the amount of candy...but HEY! That's Christmas, right? Thanks, E for such a great time! It's always nice when my family comes down here to visit.
There are a few pics in here from Mike's company Christmas party. It was at the Bernardo Winery, which was actually one of my favorite places I've ever "partied." Being at a winery while pregnant was definitely some form of torture, but the charm of this place, as well as the company at our table, was well worth it:) I plan on going back there when I can enjoy the wine. Date night!
I took the boys for the obligatory (yet always fun) picture with Santa. This year was the year of all smiles! Ryan was actually already telling Santa what he wanted for Christmas before he even got to him. (In case you want to know, he was saying, "Santa! Race car! Santa! Race car!") After we took a wonderful picture with Santa, we headed over to do the traditional ride on the merry go round. Ryan is always a little leery of going on by himself, but he actually did pretty well! The boys got a whiff of Subway when we went to the merry go round, so we went there for lunch to cap off the morning. Such a rare time out with my boys these days!
This morning, Dane's Kindergarten class had a Pajama Day and watched "Polar Express." The kids all got train tickets and had to make sure not to lose them, for if you lose them, you may not board the train! Mrs. Henken punched all of their tickets and we headed into the classroom. It was so cute to see the kids dressed in their jammies and watching the movie. They got to have hot chocolate and donuts, which of course Ryan dove right into without hesitation. "May I have, have a hot chockwhit, PWWWEEEEEEZE?" How can I say no to that?:)
Alright, so that's it for the blog until after Christmas. Dare I say, we are all caught up! Thanks for keeping up with our family and we hope you have a SUPERB Christmas with family and friends. Love to you all!
