A Roblee Christmas: Part 1

'Twas the day (or two) before Christmas and all through the house
Every creature was stirring, yes even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the TV with care
In hopes that St. Nicolas soon would be there.

Our family drove down to see Granddad and Mark
Where we ate ham and bread and made merry 'til dark.
We visited family at Adele's favorite site
And listened to Schumann-Heink sing "Silent Night."

After saying goodbye to the Grossmont house clan
We dropped Granddad off and kept on with our plan.
The boys, although tired, were excited and thrilled
To set out the chocolates and put out the milk.

'Twas time for the boys to hop into their beds
So glazed donut fairies could dance in their heads.
Mike in his flannels and Kris in her cozies
Had just settled down for a short night of dozies.

I knew Santa came as I'd heard lots of noise
Oh wait, that was Dane, sneaking a peak at the toys.
He came to our room and cried and confessed
That he'd looked at the presents, oh dear, what a mess!

All was not lost as we calmed our sweet son
And explained best we could that he'd still have some fun.
He dried his eyes quickly, was no longer forlorn
So we opened our presents that crisp Christmas morn.

Please read and enjoy with a glass of egg nog
